Porsche Taking Cayman GT4 Race Car To LA Auto Show

The Porsche, the German sports car manufacturer, recently showcased the Cayman GT4 sports car. The GT 4 racing series cars have grown in popularity over the years. This racing series is an affordable option for all the novice racing enthusiasts when compared to the GT3 class. There are a few auto manufacturers who have already brought out GT4 specification racing cars into the market. Now, Porsche is joining this group of automakers with its Cayman GT4 club sport car.

Porsche will be bringing this brand new Cayman GT 4 club sport to the 2015 Los Angeles auto show that will be taking place in the month of November.

The Cayman GT 4 Clubsport that Porsche will be shown to the world next month is designed for using on race tracks only. Hence, it will be sold in the American markets through Porsche Motor Sport North America. The other race car markets will have to buy the vehicle from Porsche Motor Sport.

The new racing car from Porsche is based on the Cayman GT 4 and will be offered with 3.8 liter, 6 –cylinder engine that will offer a maximum power of 385 hp. This 3.8 liter engine under the hood of Cayman GT4 will be married to a 7 -speed PDK twin clutch transmission system, which will be operated through paddle shifters.

The suspension of the Porsche race car is borrowed from Porsche 911 GT 3 Cup. The rear axle will be coming out with a mechanical locking differential. The brakes will be made suited for racing purpose. They will also have steel discs that measure 380 mm in diameter. The Cayman GT 4 club sport race car will be presented with bucket seat for racing convenience and the weight of the car is 2866 pounds. The other specifications include six point harness and a safety cage that is welded in.

Cayman GT 4 club sport will be ready to take in the 2016 Motorsport season. This car will take part in the race series like The Porsche Club Of America, The Pirelli World Challenge, The Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, The Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy In U.S.A. and The Ultra 94 GT3 Cup Challenge In Canada. Apart from these race series, the Porsche Cayman GT 4 club sport will also be taking part in various other club level races all over the world.
