Mitsubishi Lancer To Come Out With Added Features

Mitsubishi does not want to let go its popular sedan Lancer vehicle, despite looking to bring the crossover and SUV models into the market. Even though Mitsubishi will be shelving the Evolution model, it does not want to leave the base model Lancer in the near future. Hence, the company is going to offer the base version 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer with a few added updates.

The 2016 model year Mitsubishi Lancer, a sports compact sedan, will be offered with stylish improvements and features to give it an upscale look. The basic look of the car gets an update with an attractive front bumper that also hosts the vertical LED lights. The rear end of the car does not undergo any significant modifications.

The front fascia gets new chrome grille, automatic on and off headlights along with LED daytime running lights, fog lights and halogen headlights. The other exterior update includes: air dams at the sides and side view mirrors with turn indicators fitted on them. The 2016 version of Mitsubishi Lancer comes in a wide variety of colors like: Octane Blue, Rally Red, Diamond White pearl, Mercury Gray, Rally red and alloy silver.

The cabin of the model year Mitsubishi Lancer get moderate updates with the optional infotainment system, redesigned center console unit with USB connectivity and of course normal audio. The instrument cluster will come with color LCD display and auto air conditioning. The driver’s seat gets six way adjustments. The steering column is adjustable and also has audio controls mounted on it.

There are changes made to the mechanical side of the vehicle. The standard trim will also be coming out with the all wheel drive system, apart from featuring in the SE and the SEL trims. You can even opt out of this feature in the base ES model.

The engine that you will see under the hood of the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer ES base version would be 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder engine that offers 145 HP maximum power and a torque of 145 pound-feet. The other trims will be coming out with a 2.4 liter, four cylinder engine that offers maximum power of 168 HP and 167 lb-ft of torque. The ES, SE and SEL trims will be coming out with a CVT transmission system, whereas the base version and the GT trim will be offered with a five speed manual transmission system.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer will be coming up for sale in a few weeks time and is priced at $17,595 for the ES base version.
