Why Investing in Online Surveys Can Be the Most Effective Way to Get Strong Market Research
January 20th, 2016 by Brad Micklin

Market research can be absolutely key throughout various points in bringing a product or solution to market, and promoting it effectively. Only by understanding what your potential customers want and what their pain points are can you develop products that will appeal to them when they are ready to sell. Furthermore, it is only by understanding not only how people are responding to your product or service, but why, that you can continue to enhance it, market it to the right people, and support it.

The Challenges of Getting Valuable Market Research

One of the problems with conducting market research is that it can be difficult to both find enough of the type of people you want to know the opinions of, and to reach them. Analyzing the data gathered by a market research project is often the easy part – it is getting good data in the first place that can be tricky.

Not only do you need a big enough volume of respondents for your statistics to be a good representation of the market, and not swayed by one or two people with ‘outlier’ views, but you also need to know those people have been selected from the target audience you care about – there is no sense in finding out what housewives think of your product aimed at teenage boys.

Online Market Research

Because finding respondents, incentivizing them to do your surveys, and coordinating the whole effort can be complicated and time consuming, and if not done efficiently will yield results that are hard to mine useful facts from, it is usually best to let a professional market research company handle it for you. A good method is using online survey companies like Survey Junkie. These address a lot of your issues, because they already have a user base who have been screened for their demographics and interests, so the survey can be targeted at the appropriate users. Users are then rewarded for doing your surveys, so there is a strong motivator for them to complete them.

How to Use Your Research

How you go on to analyze the results of your research is largely down to what you are trying to find out. If you want to find stats from it to help you gauge how satisfied consumers are, how popular certain ideas or features are, and other things that are easily quantifiable, then having a good data analyst look over your survey responses can help you get a clear picture of what respondents are really telling you. If you have gone for a more freeform approach and asked respondents to explain things in their own words and comments, having a session where you, designers and other key stakeholders get together and talk through each response and any ideas it sparks can be a good way to get value from them.

Market research really helps you position and design your offerings well, and by using online survey facilities you can take a lot of the struggle out of it.

January 5th, 2016 by Brad Micklin

Durban – Miss South Africa First Princess Refilwe Mthimunye, 24, was among Miss Universe challengers in front of an audience when TV host and humorist Steve Harvey reported the wrong victor of the event.

Harvey erroneously declared amid the live telecast that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez-Arevalo had won on December 20.

The model strolled around the stage with the crown for a couple of minutes before Harvey remedied his mix-up and reported that the genuine champ was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

The challengers got the opportunity to vote in favor of who ought to take the crown; this depends on how she addressed an inquiry and on her identity. We had burned through two weeks together and we knew one another. The greater part of the young ladies had voted in favor of Miss Philippines. At the point when the champ was declared the autocue machine we were taking a gander at had the right name, yet Steve reported Miss Colombia. For a few moments we stayed silent and took a gander at one another with stun in light of the fact that we knew who we had voted in favor of,” she said.

Mthimunye said the bungle victimized the victor of the satisfaction she merited.

“At the point when Steve revised his error, we were mitigated, however, it was still ungainly in light of the fact that there was Miss Colombia crushed and attempting to be solid and the real Miss Universe not certain in the event that she ought to be energized. She dreaded the crown would likewise be taken from her. I went to compliment her in light of the fact that she truly merited it. I additionally had to trust that perhaps they committed an error by disposing of me,” said Mthimunye.

Claudia Henkel, Miss South Africa 2004 and Miss Universe 2005 competitor, said what happened was totally inadmissible.

“My heart goes out to Miss Colombia…, I think when she returned home everything returned and it hurt her, it is an inclination that she will never dispose of,” said Henkel.

South African marketing specialist, Melanie Ramjee, said: “It was the most talked about occasion on online networking for over a week. Be that as it may, I trust it was a certifiable mix-up on his part. It didn’t look practiced.

Likewise the declaration card ought to have been printed independently as it for the most part is at these exhibitions.

Supreme Court denies right for daughter to lay a claim over the ancestral property of the father if he died before year 2005
December 18th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

The supreme court has given the verdict that daughters do not have the right to claim the ancestral property of her father if he died before or on 9th September 2005. According to the Hindu Succession Act of 1956 daughter did not have any right to inherit the ancestral property of her father unlike her brother. She could only demand maintenance from her family of her father. But this act was amended by UPA government on September 9th, 2005 empowering woman or a girl with the right to inherit the ancestral property of her father. As per the amendment , the woman or a girl will have same share in ancestral property of her father as her brother(s) at the time of division of the ancestral property.

A bench comprising of supreme court justices Adarsh K Goel and Anil R Dave stated that the date of a daughter becoming coparcener in the ancestral property of her father is that date on and from which the amended act came into existence. Providing more simplified version of the Hindu succession act amendment to the citizens of India, the supreme court declared that it is necessary for both the daughter and her father to be alive on the date 9th September 2005 on which the amendment came into existence.

There is a question arising in the minds of many general public that if a male heirs can inherit or lay claim for equal share in the ancestral property of father without any preconditions then why not females or daughters or girls. The decision of the supreme court has raised eyebrows of general public, learned persons as well as intellectuals.

Still a question lingers in minds of all of us as to why the Hindu Succession Act of 1956 was not amended earlier and why it took so many years to amend this act which was favoring male more than their female counterparts?

Apple Might Allow iPhone Users To Delete Native Apps
September 16th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

There are many native iPhone apps offered on the Apple iPhones that users do not even open. These native apps are hidden in their own folder or on the Smartphone screen in some location that they do not even want to access. Apple is now thinking of owners giving the option of deleting these native apps from their iPhones.

The information about the possibility of Apple allowing the iPhone users to delete the native apps was mentioned by the CEO of Apple Tim Cook in an interview. A few of the native iPhone apps are linked to other processors on the iPhone and hence deleting them could cause a loss in the performance of the processors. He said that Apple is looking to offer the users with the option to delete the apps that do not affect the performance of the phone or its processors.

There are several out of the box apps that Apple is offering through its phone for the users. These apps come pre-loaded on the iPhone that you buy. Some of these apps include: tips, stocks, an Apple watch app, Safari mobile browser and Mail. The users who are not making use of any of these apps are complaining that they are eating up into their valuable storage space and this does not give them options to download their favorite apps on the phone.

A new version of the mobile operating system iOS 9 is launched by Apple recently. This app is smaller in size and also has features to save battery power on iPhones in the low power mode option.

There is also a new featuring coming up from Apple called the Hey Siri, a digital voice assistant Siri. All you need is to say Hey Siri without touching the phone. As Siri is always on, there are concerns about the privacy when using the phone. Tim Cook said that the information that is held on the device does not come back to Apple and the company does not have any access to it. Hence, Hey Siri is safe.

Cook made a surprise visit to an Apple store in New York City to see the preparations for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s plus launch that is coming up on September 25. Apple has said that the new iPhone 6S and 6S plus pre-orders broke the previous first weekend sales record set by the company last year.

September 16th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

Need for Speed game developer, Ghost Games, has announced that the racer game’s PC version cannot be expected till spring 2016.

According to the announcement made through the website, the PS4 versions and Xbox One versions are getting ready and will be released during November 2015.

The delay in releasing the PC version is due to the fact that the developer is trying to include one of the most requested features by gamers namely “unlocked frame rates” in this version.

The setup required for playing PC games is widely different from that required by gaming consoles and hence the performance of the games also varies in PC. It is not possible for the game developers to provide all the permutations required by the PC hardware and hence the players need flexible frame rates so that they can adjust the frame rates according to their PC requirement.

Gamers can expect a completely different look for the PC version of the game when compared to the console counterpart as the company wants to provide the best visuals in the PC version of the game.

This online game will have many updates that will be help to fix bugs and to add new game play features. All the updates coming for the console version from November this year to spring 2016 will be made available in the PC version as well. This will help the PC players to get updated like the console users.

Ghost games have announced that they will have closed beta feature for the consoles to stress test the servers in the next few weeks. The developers will be able to get the right feedback from users and they will be able to get ready the server infrastructure before the launch of the game.

The game will be available on the nex-gen consoles from November 3rd. To try the beta program, the gamers have to register on the website of the game.

Since the developers are giving emphasize on developing the right game for PC users, the expectations are high. The delay may be causing frustration among the PC users and only a top-notch game will be able to satisfy them.

September 14th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

The battle between Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation is still going great guns. Even though August is a lean period for the sales of consoles in America, yet Sony was able to enjoy better console sales than Microsoft’s Xbox One console sales in August. Microsoft is inching ever closer to Sony’s PlayStation sales with its new and improve Xbox one, but is nothing finding the killer edge game or feature that will help it in overpowering Sony and taking the lead in console sales.

The Christmas season is all set to loom very soon and there is going to be a lot of changes that one can see in the sales of the console boxes. The annual release of Madden NFL16 has helped in boosting the sales of console boxes in August. The game that topped the charts in August is of course the American football game from EA Sports. The second highest sales enjoyed by a new game to debut on the gaming console went to Gears of War: Ultimate Edition that released on Xbox One.

The Gears of war game put the sales of Xbox One at the top ahead of the PlayStation 4 for some of the days in the month. But, since both the games were released at the far end of August, the games had only a few days to woo the console users and to make a solid impression of the sales chart. PlayStation 4 was enjoying a good share of the sales in the August month, thanks to the Until Dawn exclusive game that released on PS4 earlier to the Gears of War.

The details of the hardware sales of the two leading brands are not fully conclusive. But, the chart tracker NPD has confirmed that PlayStation4 was the biggest console seller in August as well. The sales of the Xbox One console rose by 26 percent in August, when compared to its sales in the same month last year. The total sales of Xbox One console in August stood at 202,000.

Sony has still not confirmed the exact number of PS4 consoles that it was able to sell in August. Madden NFL was the number one selling game once again with Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist enjoying the second best sales on the PS4. The third biggest on PS4 was the Rocket League. Nintendo is the other console seller in the U.S. and the company has reached a total of 600,000 consoles in the U.S.

Experts Worry How Aliens React If We Send Them A Computer Virus
September 13th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

What are we to aliens? Do they pay special mind to extraterrestrial animals as we do? How might they react on the off chance that we abruptly made an approach to show up in the skies from where they live? Would their reaction be more awful on the off chance that we sent them a computer virus, to make ourselves known to them?

English scientists are pestered that a computer virus may be sent as an accidental assault against space animals potentially years and years – hundreds of years or even centuries – more advanced than Earth.

Yuri Milner, Russian web extremely rich person, has set up an one million dollar prize as a component of a new interest in the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) which is known to be by and large included in paying special mind to indications of alien life, through the use of high-influence radio telescopes, alongside top of the line computer programming equipped for examining thousands of frequencies.

Space experts, scholars and academics are presently offering for the million dollar prize for thinking of the most ideal approach to make ourselves known to aliens.

At the Oxford University, scientists highlight the significance of verifying we don’t send hostile signs to extraterrestrials, by guaranteeing that computerized messages are “spilled clean.”

“There are difficulties about using a convoluted language or punctuation for communicating something specific,” Dr. Anders Sandberg from Oxford’s Future of Humanity Institute, and a scientists member stressed, talking at the University of Bradford at the British Science Festival.

As per Sandberg, conveying a language that is excessively intricate can “conceal a horrendous parcel of odd stuff.” It could turn into a tremendous issue if that happened, particularly for the security of Earth’s own computers. He added that communicating something specific out into space, which may contain concealed malware, may not by any stretch of the imagination satisfy the aliens.

While scientists has not yet chose how to make its message to extraterrestrials, the unimportant considered making an impression on alien life structures is a theme of level headed discussion. At a late meeting, experts voted on regardless of whether to really convey a message to aliens, and the group was part in equal parts. The individuals who voted against it contest that when a message is sent to unknown ET, it may really be sent to a unintended beneficiary.

With the group split into two, there has not been a consensus yet in the matter of regardless of whether a message should be sent to ET, in what path and with what content. While scientists anticipate a real choice, scientists has set up group of four men to take a shot at alien messages.

11 Million Secured Ashley Madison Passwords Broken
September 12th, 2015 by Robert

The most popular infidelity dating website on the internet is the Ashley Madison. The client data of the Ashley Madison site was attacked by hackers and there are reports coming through, that 11 million passwords of Ashley Madison members were stolen by the hackers. The hackers who have somehow accessed the Ashley Madison dating site encrypted passwords have stolen gigabytes of data from the site that includes details of the user names and the passwords of many members as well as website codes.

The company had said that the encrypted passwords were unbreakable by the hackers as they were assembled and arranged in a scrambled manner. There were certain programming changes that were made by the website developers and this left more than one third of the member passwords to be poorly protected. The group that had cracked the passwords has said that it will not be going to share the decoded passwords to anyone.

The cracking group called as ‘The Impact Team’ has, however, given details of the method used to get the passwords. This would now give a chance for many of the other hackers to replicate the work done by The Impact Team on the Ashley Madison website.

It is said that the group of hackers has accessed over 30 million login names and passwords of Ashley Madison registered users.

The initial analysis of the data that was dumped revealed that the passwords were protected first using a process called hashing and then were all safely stored on a database. The passwords get scrambled by this process and carrying out cracking attacks on such passwords would need a lot of computer power. The attack on the passwords that have been protected by hashing with bcrypt algorithm would take years to unscramble.

But, this was not the case as at some point the site had changed the way it stored all the user passwords. This might have been the cause for hackers gaining easy access to over 30 million user account details. The 11 million passwords were stolen by the group in just 11 days and it did not take them years to crack the codes.

The insecure functions paved the way for the hacking group to attack the hashing systems. The group does not want to hurt the end users by releasing the details of the passwords. The changing of the passwords was the reason why insecure functions crept in and offered easy access for hackers to access data on the site.

New Apple TV Gives Emphasis To Gaming
September 11th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

The rumor mills have got it right this time. As predicted and rumored all over the internet, the all new Apple TV that was launched yesterday by Apple Inc. at the Apple event in San Francisco will be concentrating more on apps. The latest version of the Apple TV is completely different from the previous version and is a new, powerful and capable model to give popular gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox a run for their money. It looks like Apple wants to step into the gaming industry business with the new Apple TV and has most of its focus on game apps.

The new Apple TV does not look different at all from its previous version. But, the remote of the device has got a serious tweak. The new addition is a black matte top end that will be used as a tracking pad to swipe through all the stuff. This will help you to do things quicker and better and you will also have great control. You can use the remote to adjust the volume even if you are applying a game or checking out an app.

The remote has turned out to be a user friendly one. You need to just click it once to shut off the TV also. Even though the new Apple TV has shifted to tvOS, there is not much of a change to the interface. The users of the Apple TV will be able to access a new and specific Apple TV Sore, where you will get a chance to play games as well.

The Apple event was the platform that Apple used to inform its users that Rayman Adventures, Disney Infinity 3.0, Crossy Road and Guitar Hero live are the games that they can play on the new Apple TV Store. Now, there is news coming through that Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved and Skylanders SuperChargers have also been confirmed to be played on Apple TV.

Siri will also be playing a huge part in their set up of the new Apple TV as users will use it to access the Apple TV through voice commands. The 32 GB version of the new Apple TV will be offered at $149 and the 64 GB version of Apple TV will carry a cost of $199. Both the versions of the Apple TV will be out on sale all over the U.S in October.

Verizon To Start 5G Testing At 2016
September 10th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

The US telecom giant Verizon Wireless will be the first to start the testing of the fifth generation of wireless technology called 5G in 2016. This is great news for all the Verizon Wireless users as they will soon be able to download their favorite movies or songs or videos from the internet on their mobile at 10 times faster speed than what they are experiencing now. A full movie can be downloaded in just about 2 minutes.

The 5G technology on mobiles can reach speeds up to 2 Gbps. This is ten times faster than what 4G technology is offering. Most of the experts in the industry are saying that the 5G technology will be up and running all over the world by 2020. But, Verizon is sticking to its aggressive roadmap and want to be the first to come out with the 5G technology in America. Verizon has made its announcement that it will start its trials with the 5G network in 2016 and by deploying this new technology Verizon says that new and innovative services like remote surgery and driverless cars can soon become a reality.

The Verizon’s chief information and technology architect, Roger Gurnani, have said that 5G is no longer a dream for the future and the company feels that there needs to be a serious push for the 5G technology now itself. There is no timetable let out by Verizon wireless as to when the technology will take shape and commercialize in America. There are rough reports that some level of commercialization of the 5G technology from Verizon could be coming in 2017.

Verizon will be closely working with its partners Cisco, Alcatel, Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia and Qualcomm to come out with new teams to work on the 5G technology testing. The 5G adoption will take some time and there is no approved set of framework for the technology. The 5G technology will offer faster transfer of data from internet connected devices.

Verizon was the first to come out with the 4G long term evolution (LTE) on the American soil and this is now the standard that is used in many countries for tablets, wireless phones and many other devices. Verizon also wants to be the first to bring out the 5G technology on to mobiles and it looks like if everything falls in place, consumers can have access to 5G technology in 2018 or early 2019.

Keck Observatory Telescope Discovered The Most Distant Galaxy
September 9th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

The Keck Observatory Telescope has recognized one of most distant galaxy in the universe. Scientists say it is the most distant galaxy yet and they say it is more than 13 billion years old.

The scientists said that the newly found galaxy, named EGS8p7, it is the most removed ever watched, and it is 13.2 billion years old galaxy.

The data was assembled by the Hubble Space Telescope and Spitzer Space Telescope of NASA. Adi Zitrin, a NASA Hubble postdoctoral researcher in space science, and Richard Ellis, a teacher of astronomy at University College in London, performed a spectrographic examination of the galaxy to focus its redshift, which will quantify its distance.

Redshift originates from the Doppler impact, which really includes extended light among divine creatures. There is a change from the real shading to redder wavelengths which will indicate how far the galaxy is, Phys.org reported. The multi-object spectrometer for infrared investigation (MOSFIRE) at the Keck Observatory in Hawaii was used by the researchers. More examination is expected to know more about the galaxy.

“On the off chance that you take a gander at the cosmic systems in the early universe, there is a great deal of unbiased hydrogen that is not straightforward to this emission. We expect that the vast majority of the radiation from this galaxy would be consumed by the hydrogen in the interceding space. Yet still we see Lyman-alpha from this galaxy,” Zitrin clarified in a Caltech report.

Zitrin added that they are as of now altogether ascertaining the precise possibilities of finding EGS8p7 and seeing the emission from it to comprehend whether there is a need to change the timetable of the reionization, which is one of the principle addresses that will enhance our comprehension of the development of the universe.

The universe later cooled after around 380,000 years, permitting protons and electrons to blend into unbiased hydrogen iotas that filled the universe, letting light go through the universe. The first cosmic systems enacted and reionized the impartial gas after 500 million to 1 billion years. At present, the universe is still ionized.

A redshift ordinarily happens because of the Doppler Effect, a marvel that causes the pitch of a fire truck’s siren to abruptly drop as the vehicle passes. In the matter of heavenly questions, the light is what is being extended instead of the sound. The sudden drop happens not in the tone, but rather in the shading of the light, which transforms from its genuine shading to redder variations. While a redshift is regularly used to quantify the distance of worlds, it is hard to recognize when attempting to watch the soonest and most far off articles in the universe.

Apple Says No To Government’s Request For iMessages Access
September 9th, 2015 by Brad Micklin

There was a court order passed that instructed Apple to hand over the test messages between its iMessage accounts to the FBI. But, Apple has denied sharing the text message of its iMessage accounts to the FBI as the texts are encrypted. The Justice Department has issued an order to Apple to give details of the text messages between the suspected accounts in the iMessage. This was called for so that the FBI gets real time access to the text messages that take place between the suspects involved in guns and drug investigation.

Apple says that it has an encryption system in place that will not allow it to share the information to the FBI as the encryption will delete all the messages between accounts, so that other third parties or the company cannot read the messages sent to and fro between accounts.

Most of the technology companies want to protect their users’ privacy and do not like to spoil their reputation among their users by sharing their conversation and data to the American Government. The Department of Justice is also fighting a similar battle with the popular software company Microsoft in a similar issue where the Government wants to have access to the emails that are sought out by the Department.

For all the Apple devices that are running on iOS 8 and more, Apple will not be able to carry out iOS data extractions. This is simply because the files that are to be encrypted are carrying an encryption key protection that was linked to the user’s password. This password is not in the possession of Apple and hence they will not be able to help the FBI in sharing the text messages that are taking place between accounts on the iMessage.

Apple has said that they can extract the test and iMessages from the password locked devices with a valid search warrant on the systems that are running on iOS earlier versions. Apple could be further taken to court by the FBI officials for denial of access to iMessages accounts of certain suspects. But, at the moment, they are not going to make such a move.

Apple and Microsoft feel that by providing the FBI access to carry out back door check on the encrypted data of the customer can lead to access to the same information for people from other countries. If the US Government has access to encrypted information, then this opens the door for other governments to get access to the U.S. data centers.

Apple Entering Into Our Territory is Not A Matter of Concern
September 6th, 2015 by Robert

The recent emergence of Apple and Amazon in the video and TV content streaming service might have given sleepless nights for all other leading movie streaming giants. But, Netflix Inc, the most popular video streaming service on the net with a customer base of about 60 million subscribers, is not worried about the other two giants, Apple and Amazon Prime, making headway in this video streaming business.

Netflix is still growing in the international market as it has many popular and successful contents to showcase to its subscribers like: Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. The share of Netflix took a big dip of about 8% on Tuesday when there were reports that Apple would be moving into its own content. But, this news has not deterred the CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings.

The Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings, said that there are other people who are also doing shows. HBO and FX are also doing their own shows and hence it is not a big deal if additional companies join to do shows. The total number of shows that are produced all over the globe is on the high at the moment and there are viewers for all of them.

The Netflix CEO said that he is not worried about having sleepless nights even if the investors feel that Apple is a big threat to Netflix. There are no concrete details as to what Apple is planning. The rumors say that Apple is looking to take over Hollywood and is secretly meeting all the biggies of Hollywood.

The speculation that Apple is looking to enter the original programming scheme of things has been going on for years. It looks like Apple is still not clear in its mind as to go for original content or to start bankrolling movies. There is also news that Apple is looking to buy most of the Hollywood content.

Netflix has had an outstanding 2015 in the share market and its shares have more than doubled than what it was at the start of 2015. Netflix is going ahead with its expansion plans as well as will be launched in Japan this week. Hastings is confident that he would take the Netflix streaming service to all the important Asian countries by next year. It has China and India in its vision and there is no doubt that the two markets are really huge. This is why Netflix is not worried about the foray made by Apple as the first mover will be having a clear cut advantage from the rest.

Barack Obama
July 31st, 2015 by Robert

President Obama has approved an official request requiring the US to design the world’s fastest computer by 2025.

The supercomputer will be 20 times faster than the present driving machine, which is in China.

It would be equipped for making one quintillion (a billion) computations every second – a figure which is known as one exaflop.

A body called the National Strategic Computing Initiative (NSCI) will be set up to research and fabricate the computer.

The US is looking for the new supercomputer, fundamentally quicker than today’s models, to perform complex reenactments, help exploratory examination and national security ventures.

It is trusted the machine would help to dissect climate information for more exact conjectures or help with disease analyze by examining X-beam pictures.

A blog entry on the White House site likewise proposes it could permit NASA researchers to model turbulence, which may empower the configuration of more streamlined air ship without the requirement for broad wind passage testing.

Such a computer would be called an exascale machine.

Greater models

Richard Kenway at the University of Edinburgh says he supposes the arrangement is “right on target” as far as methodology, uniting both the desire to grow new equipment furthermore enhanced investigation of huge information.

He clarified the computer could help the advancement of customized prescriptions, custom-made to particular people.

“Today, medications are intended for the normal human and they work OK for a few individuals however not others,” he told the BBC.

“The genuine test in accuracy medication is to move from outlining normal medications to planning medications for the individual in light of the fact that you can know their genome and their way of life.”

There could likewise be advantages in long haul atmosphere demonstrating, as indicated by Mark Parsons at the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Center (EPCC).

Right now, atmosphere researchers endeavor to demonstrate how the Earth’s atmosphere will develop in advancing years, however the exactness of these expectations is extremely restricted.

Today’s speediest supercomputer, the Tianhe-2 in China’s National Computer Center, Guangzhou, performs at 33.86 petaflops (quadrillions of estimations every second), twice as quick as the second-fastest machine, which is American.

For Parsons, the most recent US activity is an unmistakable endeavor to challenge the strength of the Chinese in this field.

“The US has woken up to the way that on the off chance that it needs to stay in the race it will need to contribute,” he told the BBC.

£60m power bill

Both Kenway and Parsons call attention to that the difficulties of building an exascale computer are not unimportant and would oblige years of innovative work.

Boss among the obstructions, as per Parsons, is the need to make computer parts a great deal more power productive. And still, at the end of the day, the power requests would be gigantic.

“I’d say they’re focusing around 60 megawatts, I can’t envision they’ll get underneath that,” he remarked. “That is in any event £60m a year just on your power bill.”

Endeavors to build an exascale computer are not by any stretch of the imagination new.

As of late, IBM, the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON) and the University of Groningen declared arrangements to manufacture one to investigate information from the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) radio telescope venture.

SKA will be implicit Australia and South Africa by the mid 2020

Almost all records created by state and local government officials, including bill drafts and communications with staff, would not be subject to the Wisconsin open records law under a sweeping surprise change Republicans introduced in committee Thursday as an amendment to the state budget.

“We are steadfastly committed to open and accountable government”, the statement said.

Walker’s office has said that the materials are protected under a deliberative process exemption, which is allowed in some states and is said to protect the process of developing policy. They say the plan “was never meant to inhibit transparent government in any way”.

Records that could be kept secret would be of “all aspects of legislative proceedings”, “all matters related to the policies, practices and procedures of the legislative branch”, “researching, drafting, circulating, discussing, introducing and amending legislative proposals”, “all matters related to the work of a legislative committee”, “investigations and oversight”, “constituent relations”, and “all other powers, duties, and functions assigned by law”, according to the motion.

“That is a transparently false statement”, Lueders said.

“Gov. Walker and his office are trying to muzzle all the watchdogs in this state”, said Brendan Fischer, General Counsel for the Center for Media and Democracy said.

Other Republican lawmakers joined Cowles Friday in opposing the measure passed by all 12 Republicans on the budget committee.

On Saturday, Walker did not specifically say whether he and his office were part of planning the proposed open records changes, or whether he objected to them in advance.

But, he added, “From the Republican point of view, I actually see Sanders’ strength as a positive, because I think that’s more a reflection of resistance to Hillary’s coronation than it is necessarily people getting behind Bernie Sanders per se”, he said.

Walker, a presumptive Republican presidential candidate, said he will “make changes” to the current proposal that drew harsh criticism from both sides of the aisle, including the state’s Republican attorney general.

But Erpenbach urged the committee’s majority not to pass the changes, saying the vote would solidify the committee’s legacy as one of secrecy.

At least one GOP senator said he wouldn’t vote for the 2015-17 budget if it includes the changes.

The GOP is punting, for now, on two major issues that had led to the impasse: a $500 million financing plan for a new Milwaukee Bucks arena and changes to the prevailing wage law that sets minimum salaries for construction workers on public projects. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) said Wednesday that he doesn’t have the votes to get it passed yet in his chamber. “It did come from the governor, in my opinion, and a couple of legislators who obviously have something to hide”.

Walker’s proposal earlier this year to change the University of Wisconsin’s mission statement and eliminate the “Wisconsin Idea” from his state budget proposal came to light through an open records request. But those same sources emphasized they were unsure of whether such assurances had been made by the governor or by his aides.

Beth Bennett, executive director of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, welcomed the news of the reversal and thanked open-government advocates for instigating the change.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed controversial legislation Tuesday that will make California one of the strictest states in requiring children to be vaccinated before attending public and private schools or day care, beginning in January.

Prior to Tuesday’s bill, parents had the option to exempt their children from vaccinations, depending on their religious beliefs.

Kaiser Permanente’s Physician in Chief said “Vaccination is a very very important public health measure because it protects our children and adults from infectious diseases”. “While it’s true no medical intervention is without risk, the evidence show that immunization powerfully benefits and protects the community”.

The new law makes California just the third US state, after Mississippi and West Virginia, to completely eliminate religious and personal belief exemptions from vaccinations.

“AB 2109 was a success to ensure more students in our school system are vaccinated, and with that bill, Gov. Brown demanded an exemption which would not infringe on their Constitutional rights”, he continued.

Under the new law, only children with serious medical conditions can get an exemption and any other unvaccinated child has to be homeschooled, the AP reported. “Californians have spoken. The governor and Legislature have spoken”.

Last December, an outbreak of measles started in Disneyland and spread, infecting 150 people. The bill takes effect next year. Else, they will have to be enrolled in a home-based private school or public independent study program based off campus.

However, opponents to the legislation rallied at the state Capitol saying that the law violates their rights as parents and vowed immediately to sue the state and take the case to the voters of the state.

He accused Governor Jerry Brown of “poisoning” children with mercury and aluminium, adding: “This corporate fascist must be stopped”.

Despite lingering fears among some parents, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is clear that there is no link between vaccines and autism. SB277 was amended to allow doctors to use a family’s medical history as an evaluating factor.

Come July 2016, California parents will no longer be able to claim a “personal belief” exemption from requirements that all children in schools or daycare be immunized. Checkpoints occur in kindergarten and seventh grade.

Confidence is an essential underpinning for healthy economies, which helps explain why Greece is in so much trouble right now. There was a time when Europeans appealed to their common destiny and spelt solidarity in capital letters. He said: “There have been stress tests done but there have been exemptions for some banks while others have not passed”. After calling Troika demands “unacceptable” and urging Greeks reject them with a “resounding NO” in Sunday’s plebiscite, he capitulated to most of what he previously opposed. Yet such is the pressure being exerted on the Greek people that acceptance of (or rather, resignation to) the creditors’ demands is surely likely. These profound illusions and delusions are proving a catastrophe for Europe (and beyond).

This will prevent apps from updating when you’re not using them, so you may no longer get notifications for certain apps. That’s the idea behind Crossroad, an app that makes it easy to share memories with the people who matter and maybe not with your entire following on Instagram and Twitter. All will work normally once you open them, however, and you’ll get better battery life, as well as improved overall performance, as a result. You can also easily move your Final Draft 9 scripts from desktop to iPad or iPhone and back again via e-mail or Dropbox and your scripts will appear perfectly formatted every time. Take a look at other settings and see if you’re comfortable with what they do.

The Carolina Panthers franchise star is in Australia partaking in Gatorade’s Athlete Exchange program. For those of you who don’t recall ESPN before it acquired the rights to televise major American sports, the days of Tiddly Winks and tractor pulls included Australian rules football, a soccer/rugby hybrid made unique by game officials in fedoras and trench coats using abrupt hand gestures to signify things I never was able to really figure out. No, it’s more in the way that NFLers have pads from head to toe, whereas AFLers slam bodies while running around in their skivvies. “In our sport they’re constantly putting things on you to protect you and in this sport they’re taking things away”. The Haloti Ngatas and Clay Matthews are scary enough as it is. But Newton was a bit out of his element, according to this quote on the Twitter account of Andrew McCormack of radio station SEN 1116: Richmond defender Chris Newman apparently enjoyed Newton’s struggles. His putter snapped a couple of inches above the putter-head when he tossed it at his golf bag at the ninth hole.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Danny Lee was overcome with nerves after qualifying for a four-man playoff at the Greenbrier Classic. Woods finished tied for 32nd, six strokes back of the leaders.

Streb shot a closing 65 at The Greenbrier Classic despite a mid-round equipment mishap, almost wedging his way to victory on the Old White TPC. “I thought it was good in the air, just too pumped probably, but I enjoyed the opportunity”, Kisner stated. “I think this course really suits my game”. And Lee admits he suddenly became nervous. Then on the 17 tee, he pulled his drive well left.

“I usually wear a medium, but think this is extra large”, he said. He jumped from 57th to 15th in the FedEx Cup points race. A week ago, Bubba Watson won the Travelers Championship in a playoff. It was Lee’s 27th start this season, the most among TOUR golfers. The 36-year-old’s runner-up pushed aside his previous season-best T6 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans as well as a personal-best T12 at the 2012 Greenbrier. Hearn (67) and Lee (67) birdied the par-5 17th to join the playoff. “It was not my intent, but that was what happened. And so I said, ‘Well, let’s see what we can do with a wedge.’”.

But for Streb, it was no putter, no problem.

Lee, a former USA Amateur champion, made par at the second extra hole to edge out Canadian David Hearn for his breakthrough win.

Thomas would make a birdie at the par 3 8th hole and showed his swagger of confidence walking off the green with sole possession of the lead at 13-under.

And in the process, a first-time victor on the PGA Tour emerged.

“I was so close (to winning) a lot of times this year and I finally did it. Wow”. This was the third playoff in six years of the event …

Russell Henley drained a birdie on the 18th hole to become the first guy to reach 12-under and enter the clubhouse with the lead.

Earlier Tiger Woods carded his first bogey-free round since 2013 when he concluded with a three-under-par 67 to finish joint 32nd. “But it takes time, I’m pleased with what I’ve been able to do though”. Same club (off the tee) I hit in regulation, I came up short.

Robert Streb takes a bite out of his hat as he waits to hit on the 18th tee during the final round of the Greenbrier Classic golf tournament at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs
