2017 Audi S4 Visits Frankfurt

Audi released details of the new Audi S4 before making its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. This new B9 generation S4 gets an overhaul in its performance, thanks to the revision made on the 3.0 liter, turbocharged V6 engine. The car has got lighter, powerful and more fuel efficient from its previous engine and offers a maximum power of 354 HP and a torque of 370 pound-feet.

The power of the new engine is driven to the all the four wheels through an eight speed Tiptronic transmission system along with Audi’s time tested Quattro all wheel drive. The new S4 with direct injection, turbocharged engine is boosted with the Eaton TVS supercharger. The car can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds. The maximum speed that the S4 achieved is limited to 155 mph.

Audi claims that the car offers an engine/transmission combo of about 32 mpg U.S. in the NEDC cycle. If you are looking for a more dynamic drive, then you can opt for the S sport suspension that will bring down the S4 inch lower than the standard A4.

The S4 is 0.9 inches lower than A4 and along with sport suspension it also uses the continuous damping control. The curb weight of the Audi S4 sedan is 3594 pounds, which is relatively low when compared to the previous generation that weighed 4000 pounds.

The S4 looks quite different in comparison with A4 as it has a unique front fascia, a rear bumper with four exhaust tips, high backed sports seats in black, gray or magma red color, side skirts and aluminum look mirror caps. The instrument cluster is as similar to the Audi A4 instrument cluster with the tachometer located at the center.

The 2017 Audi S4 is expected to come into the market by mid 2016 as the 2017 model. It will be offered just as a sedan in the United States, with Europe getting both as a sedan and an Avant. The Audi S4 is one of the most anticipated cars by Audi lovers in the U.S. and the revelations made during the Frankfurt Motor Show shows that the car would be a popular one.

The car would be pitted against the likes of BMW 340i that produces a power of 320 HP and Mercedes Benz AMG C450 sedan that offers a whopping 362 HP of power. The prices of the base version of the 2017 Audi S4 could start around $50,000.
