The list of the new car models that have been nominated for the 2016 World Car Awards in various categories has now been made public. The details of the 2016 World car Awards nominees were let out at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. The list that has been let out is just the preliminary shortlist for the 2016 World Car Awards. The final list of category winners will be announced during the 2016 New York Auto Show. There is no doubt that all eyes will be on the New York Motor Show to know which of the cars have won in their respective nominated categories.
The New York Auto Show is a few months away and let’s now sees which of the cars have been nominated in which of the categories. The provisional list that was let out the shows that most of the awards will be won by the German and Japanese car brands. They have got the maximum nominations among the car brands from other countries. The British as well as American car brands are also once in the race for the 2016 World Car Awards in a few categories.
The most noticeable models that have won lots of nominations are: Audi A4, Mazda MX-5, Mercedes GLC and Honda HR-V. The best part is that cars like The Land Rover Discovery Sport, Jaguar XE and XF and the Vauxhall Astra have also got nominations and have bright chances of picking up at least one award in their respective categories.
The 2016 nominations for the World Luxury Car of the Year are: Jaguar XF, Infiniti Q30, Lexus RX, Audi Q7, BMW 7 series, Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe and Volvo XC90. The 2016 World Green Car of the year nominations are: Nissan X Trail hybrid, Chevy Volt, Toyota Pius, Volkswagen Passat GTE and Mercedes Benz C350e.
The nominations in the world car design of the year 2016 are: Audi Q7, R8 coupe, Audi A4 sedan and A4 Avant; BMW X1, 2series convertible and 7 series; Cadillac CT6; Chevy Malibu; Ford Edge; Honda HR-V; Hyundai Tuscon and Creta; Kia Optima; Jaguar XE; Skoda Superb; Nissan Maxima; Mazda CX-3 and CX-5; Mercedes Benz GLC and C Class coupe and all new models of different car brands that has shown up in 2015.
There are about 70 plus jurors from over 12 countries who will be casting their votes over the course of the coming months. The winners in different categories will be announced at the 2016 New York Motor Show to be held late in March 2016.
