2016 Smartfortwo Cabrio Debuts At Frankfurt Motor Show

If you want to ride in a smart compact car that does not have a roof on top and is quite easy to ride on busy city roads, then you will have to take a look at what 2016 Smart fortwo Cabrio has to offer. This car made its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and the display pavilion of the Cabrio attracted a lot of people. The car displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show was a white colored one with silver safety cell.

This two seater Cabrio is a perfect car for the young couples and lovers. It comes with a fabric roof that can be pushed back to make it more like a conventional sunroof. You can have the rear screen stand up. The roof can also be folded back on to the tailgate along the rear screen to fully open up the top to watch the skies or let the sun shine through. You can remove the two roof rails to make it into a full convertible small car.

The roof offered in three different colors can be opened or closed in just about 12 seconds. The roof can be closed and opened without any fuss even if the car is traveling at top speeds. This next generation Mercedes Benz owned brand looks rigid and sturdier than the previous model.

The Smart fortwo Cabrio comes with the same power train you find under the hood of the first generation vehicle. This means you get to choose from a 1.0 liter aspirated petrol engine that offers 70 HP or opt for 0.9 liter turbo petrol that offers an 89 HP power. The turbo petrol engine is mated to a five speed manual or a dual clutch transmission.

There are no changes made to the cabin of the Smart fortwo Cabrio car. You can opt for the optional 7 inch infotainment system that has Mirror Link Smartphone integration. The layout and colorful materials that were seen in the first generation Cabrio car is also used in the 2nd generation Cabrio. The trim levels are also the same and the car is offered with a wide variety of interior and exterior personalization options.

The price of the 2016 Cabrio for two has not been disclosed at the Frankfurt Motor Show and will be announced by the company later. The pre-orders of the car will commence from mid November and it is expected that the models will reach the dealerships by February 2016.
