The automotive mid cycle updates that take place are normally just a few cosmetic changes to the vehicle. This will help in keeping the aging vehicles fresh in the market. Nissan wants to offer more than this in the 2016 Altima family sedan car. This is why it has included state of the art car technology and active safety features to give a midlife overhaul for the vehicle.

The front and the rear of the Nissan Altima have been enhanced to match the look of the new Maxima. It comes with chrome on the front end with optional new LED headlights and lower bumpers. The bumper, trunk lid and the taillights have also been refreshed to give it a modern day car look.

This SR trim has its own suspension setup, better wheel or tire package, stiffer front and rear stabilizers and redesigned dampers.

The engine that you will find under the hood of the 2016 Nissan Altima is the same as before. You can opt for a 2.5 liter four cylinder or 3.5 liter, six cylinder Nissan Xtronic continuously variable transmissions (CVT) engine. There is slight improvement seen in the mileage on the 2.7 liter engine and it now offers 27 mpg in city and 39 mpg on the highways. The highway mileage gets a boost of 1 mpg from the previous version.

The Altima is one of the best handling family sedans being sold in the U.S. and with new improvements made to the 2016 edition; this car will surely have a lot of takers.
