The CTS and the ATS sedans of the Cadillac are now going to come out with power train changes in order to boost the efficiency of the car. This is great news for the Cadillac car lovers who will be able to buy a powerful and highly performing sedan than its previous version. The 2016 Cadillac will be offered with a new 3.6 liter V6 engine. This is the same engine that you will find under the hood of the 2016 Cadillac CT6 sedan, which is a luxury sedan.
The new 3.6 liter V 6 engine that will come fitted under the hood of the ATS and CTS Cadillac sedans will offer a peak power of 333 HP along with peak torque of 285 pound-feet. This means that the 2016 Cadillac CTS and ATS will improve by 12 HP and 17 pound-feet from the previous 3.6 liter V6 engine.
The Cadillac ATS and CTS also come with start/stop function and cylinder deactivation that will help in improving its fuel efficiency even better than the previous models. With all the new engine improvements, the 2016 Cadillac offers an EPA mileage of 24 mpg for both CTS and ATS sedans. This means that the new 2016 Cadillac CTS and ATS will offer a boost of 2 mpg from its previous version. You can now enjoy 2 mpg rise for the rear wheel drive models and 1 mpg for the models offering all wheel drive.
The reason for the increase in the performance and the fuel efficiency of the 2016 Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans is because of the employment of new eight speed automatic transmission system that is neatly coupled with the 3.6 liter V6 engine. This replaces the previous six speed transmission system in the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans.
The Cadillac 2016 model year ATS sedans and coupes are also offered with a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that is mated to a six speed manual transmission system that powers the rear wheels of the car. The Cadillac ATS sedan with 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder engine that is mated to eight speed automatic transmission system is also offered by the company.
There are a few updates made to the 2016 Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans that will be arriving later during the fall season. The car now comes with compatibility with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The cars will also come with added color options and extra safety features.
