Metallica To Perform At Game 5 Of The NBA Finals – Triple M

The metal duo has also done the same a few times in what are termed Metallica Nights for the San Jose Sharks profession hockey team.

Billboard reports that the pair will take to the floor for the traditional pre-game performance before the Cleveland Cavaliers square off against the Golden State Warriors.

You Think You Know Metallica?

Before Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Warriors had a 10-year-old girl, Nayah Damasen, sing the national anthem.

Metallica’s James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett perform the national anthem before the start of the Miami Marlins game against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park in San Francisco, Calif. on Friday, May 16, 2014.

When we say that Metallica will be “playing” at the NBA finals, we don’t mean that they will be playing in the finals. The Bay Area-based band announced Friday that they would play the “Star-Spangled Banner” before Game 5 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Metallica just released an enormous boxed set comprised of over 50 CDs documenting 25 shows in Australia and New Zealand between 2010 and 2013.

Formed in 1981, Metallica has released nine studio albums and won eight Grammy awards.
